Empower and innovate
Student Council programs
Objectives: to establish or develop your existing student council system to foster more student involvement, increase student participation and intentionally raise the profile of student voice and advocacy within the community
Program ‘Basic’:
- 2 x 1 hour zoom workshop with teacher council facilitators, grade level leaders, teacher leadership leaders. This workshop will start by exploring your current school context. Based on these discussions, school wide models for innovative and collaborative student council systems will be shared and ready to use resources will be shared, to adapt for the specific context.
Program ‘Connect’:
- 2 x 1 hour zoom workshop with teacher council facilitators, grade level leaders, teacher leadership leaders. This workshop will start by exploring your current school context. Based on these discussions, school wide models for innovative and collaborative student council systems will be shared and ready to use resources will be shared, to adapt for the specific context.
- 5 x 1 hour student workshops for student council members and their teacher facilitators to guide the process of redesign

The Advisory Curriculum
Inspire Student Agency
Objectives: to design, redesign or revamp an advisory program to focus on intentional teaching for student advocacy and leadership.
Program ‘Basic’:
- 2 x 1 hour zoom workshop with teacher council facilitators, grade level leaders, teacher leadership leaders for either Grade 6 – 8, 9 – 10 or 11 – 12. This workshop will start by exploring your current school context. Based on these discussions, this workshop will share a pre-written curriculum that can be discussed and tailored to the school’s individual context.
Program ‘Connect’:
- 2 x 1 hour zoom workshop with teacher council facilitators, grade level leaders, teacher leadership leaders for either Grade 6 – 8, 9 – 10 or 11 – 12. This workshop will start by exploring your current school context. Based on these discussions, this workshop will share a pre-written curriculum that can be discussed and tailored to the school’s individual context.
- 5 X 1 hour student workshop for grade level specific student leaders to design a student led curriculum to be implemented within the school.
Co-Curricular Activities

Objectives: To analyze existing CCA programs, explore ways of providing students with leadership opportunities within the program frames in order to start off student-led activities that fit into exciting CCA program goals or/and expand the program with student-led components.
Program ‘Basic’:
- 2 hour zoom workshop for activities coordinators, team leaders and sports coaches to explore innovative and empowering CCA models to drive student engagement and ownership of learning beyond the classroom. This workshop will provide ready to use resources and documentation to develop for your own school’s context
Program ‘Connect’:
- 2 hour zoom workshop for activities coordinators, team leaders and sports coaches to explore innovative and empowering CCA models to drive student engagement and ownership of learning beyond the classroom. This workshop will provide ready to use resources and documentation to develop for your own school’s context
- 4 additional hours of ongoing program design support and consultation
- 2 hour zoom workshops for student activity leaders
